"M

irror mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” Well according to a new survey, the answer is the Duchess of Cambridge. A new nationwide poll conducted by Fabulous Magazine found that the royal mother-of-three was the overall winner, taking 36% of the vote. Voters noted Kate’s “glossy bloss-dries and impeccable make-up” as the stylistic elements they most admired about her, with the belief that her approach perfectly complimented her natural beauty.

She was followed by Holly Willoughby and Popstar Rihanna in the poll who took second and third place respectively. Holly received 32% of the vote and Rihanna 10%.

The vote resulted in Kate being named as the UK’s top beauty idol as well as fashion influencer too, with voters commenting that her style was both “elegant and timeless”. The survey also found that the public felt that the Duchess’s style was fashionable and accessible in equal measure.

The new survey comes after Kate’s Hold Still book dominated the bestsellers list on Amazon, remaining in the No.1 position for five consecutive days. The book has now also become a Sunday Times bestseller too, reaching number 7 on the prestigious list after selling 2,125 copies in a matter of days - this number excludes some online sales.

Nielsen Book UK, who compile the list every week from data collected from 90% of the books sales within the first seven days, a spokesperson said: “It is clear that Hold Still has been incredibly successful, and its national theme of painting a portrait of differing experiences throughout lockdown in the UK has very clearly been embraced by the public.”

The book was praised online by fans and critics for its emotive and poignant subject matter and the varied spectrum of the photographs featured.
