A

new video featuring the Duchess of Cambridge sent royal fans into meltdown today, with many commenting on the royal’s appearance. The Duchess was revealing that she would be announcing the 56th Wildlife Photographer of the Year ahead of the competition’s first virtual awards ceremony. Catherine – who was given an exclusive first look at the winning image – will appear at the ceremony tomorrow evening (Tuesday 13th October) where she will announce the winner.

In the 23 second video the Duchess said: “It is so wonderful to be back at the reopened Natural History Museum where we can all enjoy its treasures once again. I'm here because tomorrow night I'm announcing the 56th wildlife photographer of the year.

“I've been lucky enough to have a quick preview and I can say it's truly spectacular I can't wait for you all to see it.”

The short video was filmed at the Natural History Museum, of which she is patron of, and whilst the announcement caused excitement, royal fans went into meltdown over the Duchess’ appearance on screen.

Dan Wootton, Executive Editor and Columnist at The Sun Newspaper, tweeted: “Hate commenting on the appearance of a female royal because it should be irrelevant...BUT how damn beautiful does Kate look here?”

Catherine was filmed wearing a chic black blazer, with her famous locks looking impeccable. The suit was similar to another outfit the Duchess wore earlier this year when visiting an NHS 111 Call Centre before the pandemic took hold.

After posting the video, Dan wasn’t alone in commenting on how stunning the Duchess of Cambridge looked, royal fans were equally enamoured. Ingrid Seward, Royal Commentator and Biographer, tweeted: “The Duchess of Cambridge looking beautiful.” Others commented: “How unreal is the Duchess of Cambridge?” and “Wow, the Duchess of Cambridge is rocking it with this look.”

It has been a busy time recently for the Duchess of Cambridge, especially the Duke of Cambridge. Last week, the Duke launched The Earthshot Prize, took part in the first ever TED Talks dedicated solely to the Environment – Countdown, and alongside the Duchess welcomed the President and First Lady of Ukraine to Buckingham Palace.

The next few weeks look to be equally busy, with the Duchess looking to finally launch the next phase of her 5 Big Questions Survey and other engagements planned centring around her work with the Early Years.
