ir David Attenborough has launched his new film, A Life on Our Planet, by attending a screening with the Duke of Cambridge. Beforehand, however, the acclaimed broadcaster met with the Duchess of Cambridge and was introduced to three special guests who were more than excited to meet him, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and – a not so little – Prince Louis.

Before the screening, Sir David spent time speaking to the Cambridge’s and gifted Prince George with a 23 million-year-old shark tooth – to which he was delighted. Prince Louis was excited to meet the Blue Planet presenter and Princess Charlotte seemed genuinely star struck.

The visit comes after Sir David’s latest film A Life on Our Planet received rave reviews from critics and has been praised for its subject matter of climate change. The reviews come after Attenborough broke the world record set by Jennifer Aniston, becoming the fastest person ever to reach 1 million followers on Instagram within 24 hours. The climate change campaigner achieved the number in 4 hours!

The Duke later joined Attenborough in the gardens at Kensington Palace, with a make-shift cinema created for a private screening.

William has partnered with Sir David throughout the years, interviewing him last year at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He also launched the Expedition ship ‘RRS Sir David Attenborough’ alongside his wife, The Duchess of Cambridge, and next month, they will meet again in an upcoming documentary, Prince William: A Planet For Us All.
