bisoft have finally revealed the first cinematic trailer for the next Assassin’s Creed game – Valhalla – taking gamers into the world of the Vikings. Following on from the previous title Odyssey; Valhalla will allow gamers to choose whether they play as male or female Viking raider and clan leader, Einor.

The developers state the game will include: “raids, growing settlements, building power and expanding influence”, and will be based mostly in England as Einor battles the forces of King Alfred the Great.

There will be some differences with rumours swirling that Valhalla could include the series second shot at a co-op option after the series 2014 title Unity failed to achieve success. This has been debunked by Ubisoft who state that there will be come interactivity, but no co-op gameplay.

Naval travel will return, though unlike previous titles, there will be limited battling between ships. Instead, sailing on the water will be the quickest way of getting around the English landscape, and will also allow gamers to raid all coastal towns and settlements.

The game will also heavily utilise Norse mythology, playing on the Viking’s connections to their Gods and their heavy involvement with battle.

Valhalla took two and a half years to develop and with fifteen studios coming together to bring Einor’s world to life and will be released Winter 2020 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia and PC.
