fter an unexpected pandemic, Disney are finally returning to full force, and are marking their return with the opening of their highly anticipated Avengers Campus. The new land - opening to the public today (4th June) will see guests interacting with some of Marvel’s greatest superheroes. From Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther, Captain America and Black Panther, all of the movie’s most beloved heroes will feature.

With state-of-the-art attractions and animatronics, Disney has promised that the Campus will live up to the expectations of the MCU fanbase, and by looking at the preview event, it seems that they are right.

The area is centred around the iconic heroes training camp owned by Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. Across the area, fans will be able to interact with their favourite superheroes and even get to see Spider-Man perform gravity-defying, acrobatic feats never before seen in a Disney park. The state-of-the-art animatronic, specifically designed by Disney’s Imagineers, is truly a sight to behold as it soars through the sky performing flips and spins.

There is much to see and do at the Campus, though one of the top attractions is WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. Tom Holland is returning as Peter Parker to help riders test their web slinging abilities. With never-before-seen technology, guests will literally be able to sling webs at targets throughout the ride. 3D glasses are involved as riders attempt to capture as many out-of-control Spider-Bots as possible. Brilliantly, there is no height restriction for this ride meaning all ages can enjoy the experience.

Away from the WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure is the Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission Breakout! attraction. Formerly the iconic Tower of Terror, the ride was reimagined as a new Marvel concept in preparation for Avengers Campus in 2017.

Besides the attractions there is also entertainment, and what is exciting about Avengers Campus is the introduction of many new characters. Ant-Man and The Wasp make their debut, as does Okoye - the leader of Wakanda’s Dora Milaje. Fans will be able to take part in “training sessions” with their favourite characters too. There is also the Ancient Sanctum, a place to learn about the mysterious secrets of Doctor Strange, and discover many interesting artefacts.

Guests will also be able to eat at brand new dining experiences, including Pym Test Kitchen featuring Impossible™. With oversized pretzels, Plant-based meatballs, and all manner of beverages from Pym Tasting Lab, those taking a break from the heroics will be well-sourced for food.

As with most elements for Avengers Campus, the merchandise is unlike anything you’ve seen before. At WEB Suppliers guests will be able to purchase their very own Spider-Bot, along with backpacks, WEB shooters and all manner of Spider-Man goodies. The Campus Supply Pod is the place to purchase all your Avengers merchandise, from hoodies, tees, headwear, drinkware and Super Hero supplies.

At the launch of the new Marvel-themed land, Marvel Studios President/Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige was joined by Captain America Anthony Mackie, Ant-Man Paul Rudd, actor/director Jon Favreau, Disney CEO Bob Chapek, and President of Disneyland Resort Ken Potrock.

“On behalf of our Cast of Super Heroes, I couldn’t be more excited to welcome our guests to this epic new land,” said Potrock, “Just as Avengers come together for the common good, the Disneyland Resort is ready to power up with Anaheim and Southern California to drive tourism, rebuild businesses and strengthen our communities.”
