10. Avengers

First up is the first Avengers movie. Fans had been waiting for years for Earth’s mightiest heroes to team up, and finally in 2012 the wait was over. The movie which dominated the box office earned a stunning $1.5 billion. Making it one of the biggest movies ever made.

It also ignited new phases within the Marvel Universe and proved the studios superhero dominance.

9. Deadpool

Regarded as the rebel of the Marvel Universe, Deadpool saw Ryan Reynolds inject some adult humour into the Marvel world. Deadpool made over $783 million at the Box Office and saw Marvel willingly make-fun of itself.

Reynolds, who had faced the scorn of superhero fans after the epic flop Green Lantern from DC comics, regained support after his turn as Wade Wilson.

8. Avengers: Infinity War

The penultimate film to the Avengers series saw the movies ending shock fans around the world. As half of the iconic characters disintegrated in ash, fans were left reeling over what would happen next.

Raking in over $2 billion world-wide at the box office, the juggernaut movie cemented Marvel’s position as epic story-tellers and cinema dominators.

7. Spider-man: Homecoming

Numerous actors have portrayed the famed superhero Spider-Man, but Tom Holland’s turn as the web-slinging hero captured Stan Lee’s original idea. The youngest actor to play Peter Parker, Holland brought a genuine sense of wonder and innocence to the Marvel world.

Making $880 million at the box office, Spider-Man: Homecoming reinvigorated the superhero and with a sequel our next year, fans can expect a lot more of Peter Parker.

6. Guardians Of The Galaxy

A change in tone erupted onto the screen with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. Mixing a killer soundtrack with Star Wars-esq space adventure, Guardians added a new tone and feeling to the Marvel Universe and steered it into new realms.

Pulling in $773 million at the box office, the unlikely heroes managed to capture the imagination of the movie-going public.

5. Captain America: Civil War

The third solo outing of Captain America saw Steve Rogers face not only villains, but his own team. Battling Iron Man and other Avengers caused high anticipation amongst Marvel fans who couldn’t wait to see the epic fight.

Attracting an impressive $1.153 billion at the box office, Captain America: Civil War cemented The Russo Brothers successful run within the Marvel Universe.

4. Black Panther

Arguably one of the most defining moments of the Marvel Universe, Black Panther saw the first Marvel movie where the majority of the cast were African Americans. The movie has gone on to become one of the most successful films of-all-time.

Raking in an immense $1.3 billion at the box office, and winning numerous awards including a plethora of Academy Awards, Black Panther has secured itself as a record breaking movie.

3. Thor Ragnarok

After two solo outings as Thor, Chris Hemsworth returned in the best Thor movie yet and arguably the funniest Marvel movie of the all. Directed by Taika Waititi, Ragnarok saw a new look Thor with short hair and a more 80s tone.

The movie was a huge success taking in $854 million at the box office and reinvigorated a character which many, including Hemsworth himself, felt had grown stale.

2. Iron Man

It was the movie that started it all. Iron Man saw Robert Downey Jr ignite the screen as Tony Stark and provided enough confidence in Marvel that the expanded Universe was something fans wanted to see.

Iron Man’s place in Marvel history ensured that Downey Jr’s impact on the series is unbeaten and unrivalled, anointing the nickname, “the godfather of Marvel.”

1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Taking the No.1 spot is without doubt the best-Marvel-movie ever-made! Captain America: The Winter Soldier was the first directorial outing of the Russo Brothers. With The Winter Soldier, they managed to create a thrilling and emotional movie which showcased the brilliant storytelling capability these movies to achieve.

Pulling in $714 million at the box office, many see this movie as the turning point in the Marvel Universe and showcased just how awesome these movies could be. Which is why it takes out No.1 spot!
