fter 38 years, Fast Times at Ridgemont High was brought back to life on Thursday night in an epic fundraising table read. Starring Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Sean Penn, Jimmy Kimmel, John Legend, Ray Liotta, Julia Roberts, Shia LaBeouf, Morgan Freeman and Henry Golding, the hour-long streaming event took place on the Facebook page for Penn’s non-profit CORE (Community Organised Relief Effort). Partnered with LiveXLive as well as criminal justice reform group Reform Alliance, the event was created to make money for free Covid-19 testing in the hardest hit communities.

Whilst the star-studded table read included some of the industry’s biggest hitters, attention was solely on two individuals – Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. The reunion marked the first time the former Hollywood couple had worked together since their divorce 15-years-ago and both seemed comfortable and happy being in each other’s (virtual) company.

Pitt ironically voiced Brad Hamilton, played by Judge Reinhold in the film, and Aniston played Linda Barrett, originally played by Phoebe Cates, and re-enacted the movies hilarious and deeply embarrassing swimsuit sequence.

Roberts voiced Stacy Hamilton, the younger sister of Brad Hamilton and LaBeour took on the iconic role of Sean Penn, Jeff Spicoli. Alongside Ray Liotta as Mr. Hand, the pair re-enacted the memorable scene in which Spicoli has a pizza delivered to him in class. Legend voiced football star Charles Jefferson and his little brother. Golding handled the role as science teacher Mr. Vargas. McConaughey took on Mike Damone while Cook played Mark “Rat” Ratner.
