5. Jussie Smollett: Update

Empire actor, Jussie Smollett’s legal troubles went from bad to worse last week after a Grand Jury indicted the actor with 16 felony charges. The charges were in relation to the actor being accused of staging a hate crime and wasting Chicago Police time and money.

The last few weeks has seen the actor suffer an epic fall from grace after an investigation revealed that Smollett had staged an horrific hate crime, where he described being attacked by two white men wearing MAGA hats.

Many believe that Smollett will reach a plea deal, essentially ruling out a lengthy prison sentence. However, if he chooses to take the case to a trial, he could be looking at close to 48 years in prison!

4. Harry's Hypocrisy?

Prince Harry has face an embarrassing backlash over his speech at the annual WE Day UK conference in London. The Duke of Sussex gave an impassioned speech on climate change, social issues and the generational gap in today’s society.

However, not everyone was inspired by the speech, with many calling the sixth-in-line to the Throne a hypocrite after it was revealed he had used a private helicopter just two days prior.

Many stated at the high polluting mode of transport was unnecessary when he could have taken a train which would have reduced his carbon footprint by 90%.

3. Winter Is Here! (Almost)

It feels like we’ve been waiting an eternity, but finally the trailer landed for the final season of ‘Game Of Thrones’. The trailer which shows the iconic characters preparing to face the White Walkers had fans in meltdown.

The final season airs April 14th and will conclude the long-running hit show with only 6 episodes. The season will also include the biggest and longest battle sequence ever committed to film.

2. Will & Kate In Blackpool

It is the iconic seaside town, and last week Blackpool was adorned with a touch of Royalty in the shape of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The future King and Queen spent the day visiting the famous Blackpool Tower, a children’s park and national library, with hundreds of well-wishers turning out to meet the couple. But it was their visit to the seaside slums which captured most the media’s attention.

Visibly horrified by the sight of a dilapidated house, the couple were exposed to the darker side of Blackpool and the effect of corrupt landlords in the town. Afterwards, the couple met a resident who had moved into a similar home after extensive renovation work.

1. Music's Abused

They were the two dominating stories from last week; the interview with R Kelly by Gayle King and the controversial documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’ finally airing worldwide. Both caused mass reaction with Gayle King’s CBS interview with R Kelly shocking audiences. But it was King’s reaction which had social media talking, as many praised the interviewer for her poise and patience.

Just days before, ‘Leaving Neverland’ horrified audiences with the allegations of child sex abuse against Michael Jackson. The documentary divided audiences, with most believing the allegations made by Safechuck and Robson. However, Jackson’s fans flooded social media with the hashtag ‘#mjinnocent.
