5. Queen Victoria's 200th

Last week marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria. The momentous milestone is being marked across numerous royal sites, including Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace.

Both royal residences are showcasing exhibitions with items of clothing a jewellery warn by Victoria. This includes one of her most famous tiaras, The Emerald and Diamond Tiara designed by her husband Prince Albert.

4. Aladdin's Success

Disney is continuing its successful run of remaking their classic animations into live-action. Their latest, Aladdin, has shocked critics with a higher than expected box office taking.

The Will Smith blockbuster has stormed to become the No.1 movie in the world taking a huge $86 million in its first three days in North America. It is now expected to reach $104 million when Monday’s ticket sales are added to the total.

3. Game of Thrones Ends

It finally happened! The biggest show in TV history came to an end as Game Of Thrones concluded its final season last week.

Whilst it became the most watched episode in HBO’s history, many fans weren’t impressed which how the show ended. Over 1-million viewers signed a petition for the final season to be remade, though the demand was met with anger from members of the cast, including Kit Harington and Sophie Turner.

2. Kate's Chelsea Show

HRH The Duchess of Cambridge revealed her ‘Back to Nature’ garden at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The garden, which was partly designed by the Duchess, was designed to try and get kids outdoors in nature.

Kate, who visited the garden constantly throughout the building process, also brought her family along to a quick visit. Her husband, Prince William and children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and (a walking) Prince Louis seemed ecstatic with the garden and were photographed playing in the stream and on the swing.

But it wasn’t just the royals who loved the garden, the public queued for over 2-hours to walk through Kate’s garden which universal praise for the design.

1. Theresa May Resigns

After much speculation, finally Theresa May announced her resignation as Prime Minister. May, who had attempted to bring her Withdrawal Agreement back to Parliament for a third time, broke down in tears as she declared she would step down on June 7.

The Tory Leadership contest has now begun with Boris Johnson being the early favourite to take the “top job”. Though others are putting up a fight with Sajid Javid, Michael Gove and Jeremy Hunt entering the race.
